Abstract:
In order to investigate the characteristics of AE signals and propagation on BOP inner surface, some simulation tests on inner surface were necessary, but the common analog sources could not meet the requirements. Aiming at this problem, a new type of analog signal source device was developed. Being easy to use, waterproofing, sealing and controllable, this device could produce sustained and stable signal. With comparing and analysis, it was concluded that the average amplitude of signal produced by new device source and pencil lead break source was the same, but the highest amplitude of signal produced by new device source was higher than the one produced by pencil lead break source. In location, the deviation from the actual position by the new device was also smaller than that by pencil lead breaking. All this verified that this new type of analog source signals satisfied the test requirement.
