Abstract: In the first periodical inspection to an industrial pipeline in a petrochemical plant, an elliptical mending welding was found on this aromatic pipeline. Ultrasonic test was applied to test this welding. After analyzing the test process and problems may concern, a suitable process was advocated to accomplish the test work. Some experiences on UT to the welding of this kind were summarized in the end.
