Abstract:
Based on physical characteristics of anchored bars, an idea that regards anchored bars as wave-guide was put forward and the bonding integrity of anchored bars was evaluated in terms of guided waves theories. By analyzing the propagation characteristics of guide waves with different frequencies through anchored metal bar, wave speed variation and amplitude attenuation laws were obtained. In the same situation, wave speed for high frequency was higher than one for low frequency, but wave energy attenuation for high frequency was much greater than one for low frequency. The propagation speed of longitudinal guided wave with identical frequency in free metal bar was higher than one in anchored bar, but its energy attenuation was greater. Based on amplitude attenuation of guided wave, the bonding quality of anchored bars could be evaluated qualitatively.
