Abstract: Because of the shortcomings of quantitative calculation for pipe welding root defect tested by radiographic, the quantitative problem was researched. Their characteristics were introduced, standard density films were made, and comparing blocks were produced as referencing the characteristics of trench testing block. A rapid calculation method was got to evaluate the defect depth of pipe welding root defect.
