Abstract:
The laser speckle shearography technology (LSS) based on thermal loading was applied to the nondestructive test of some laminate reference blocks with artificial defects, intending to bring its superiority into testing of composite. The test results show that, the LSS NDT method is provided with an enough sensitivity and precision for the detection of the artificial delaminations with stipulated size and depth. Meanwhile, the inspection sensitivity is greatly dependant on the depth and size of defects. By selecting an applicable amount of Thermal loading, a dependable speckle image can be got in practical inspection. It can finally be concluded that the LSS technology based on thermal loading is a quickly and dependably NDT method of the composite laminates.
