Abstract: According to ASTM E 1444, while performing the fluorescent magnetic particle inspection, the standard neither states in detail how to adjust the amperage value used in applying the AS5282 ring to verify the system performance nor gave description on how to demagnetize it after the ring was circularly magnetized. By experience of author, the method of applying one copper bar to preset the amperage value was advised. And solved the residual magnetism, longitudinal magnetizing the ring was applied only after the circular magnetization. After implementation of the above-mentioned ideas, the reliability of system performance by AS5282 ring was improved and the effectiveness of magnetic particle inspection was enhanced.
