Abstract:
In order to ensure the accuracy of the test results, comparability and repeatability, steel block testing and adjusting apparatus, combined with theoretical calculation, was used for the reflector positioning, sensitivity calibration and correction of the reflector equivalent. Ultrasonic inspection of welded joints in aluminum and titanium was performed by using the corrected results to determine the sensitivity of detection and to evaluate defect equivalent size. The simulation test and field test proved that the detection method was accurate, reliable, and of high practical value.
