Abstract: The present situation and development of fiber optic sensor of acoustic emission(AE) testing technique were introduced. The fiber optic sensor of AE testing techniques based on the intensity modulation, phase-modulation, wavelength-modulation, polarization-modulation and some novel modulation principles were reviewed and evaluated. Some application examples were presented. The present urgent challenging problems and development tendency were also put forward.
