Abstract:
For industrial production, steel core wire belt in the belt tearing fracture is mainly due to the core, and the general method of detection is more difficult for the core wire belt. In this paper, by the comparison of manual inspection, electromagnetic detection and thermal imaging methods, it was found that these methods were effective in detecting small amount and single broken wire, but were difficult in detecting steel core belt of high density arrangement. Based on the fact that the core wire in the belt absorbed more X-ray energy than the belt itself, this paper proposed the X-ray testing to meet the testing requirements for intensity steel core belt, followed by collection of X-ray image intensifier for image processing, image analysis, and finally by the neural network method to accurately determine the location of the defect core wire. The X-ray detection was shown high efficiency, and could be arranged in a variety of complex steel core belt testing. It was also proved by experiments that the method was more intuitive than the average, and was able to accurately determine the defect position.
