Abstract:
Five kinds of fill level inspection methods usually used in the beverage production were introduced. Which were X-ray, infrared rays, machine vision, thermal image and sound wave. A new non-contact capacitive fill level inspection method was introduced, compared and analyzed. The electrodes of the sensor were coupled to the neck of the bottle through an air gap. Because the dielectric constant of the water was much greater than air, glass or plastic, the electrodes capacitance was determined by the fill level in the bottle. This sensor had the advantages of high accuracy and speed, wide measuring range and low cost.
