Abstract:
The crossing, as an important part of the turnout, is austenitic cast manganese. The austenitic structure inspection with ultrasonic had many disadvantages and the result of the inspection was not very accurate due to internal rough grain and poor acoustical transmission. In order to control effectively the internal quality of crossing, the radiography with highenergy radiation accelerator was used to detect directly the foundry defects in austenitic manganese crossing. Researches and practices showed that high energy testing was in: high sensitivity, legible film and accurate defect locating, which could qualify the product in detail and accuracy. Therefore, the energetic Xray radiography was a kind of effective inspection method.
