Abstract: The ropes are the key parts of ropeway, and their monitoring to them is the essential safeguard measures for life property safety. Several comman flaws of steel rope, as corrosion, broken wire, et al, were inspected, the LF and LMA curves were analysed, and the inspected result was proved by the real detecting. Some practical experience, as the calibration of inspecting instrument, the qualitative and quantitative analysis,et al, was concluded, and it was probably useful to the inspection of steel rope.
