Comparison of Fan shaped and Amplitude Display Eddy Current Testing Signal for Discontinuity Estimation

  • 摘要: 阐述了涡流检测时扇形显示与幅值显示方式的原理。提出在实际的涡流检测中两种信号显示方式效果不尽相同。对所检出的缺陷,信号扇形显示能根据它的相位位置和形状大概判断其性质和深度(外伤或内伤)。信号幅值显示只能给出缺陷的幅值信号,无法得到所检测缺陷的更多信息。当信号幅值显示不能获得或者达不到报警设置水平时,信号扇形显示能获得其相位信息,为检测人员判断提供参考。 因此建议在涡流检测时以扇形显示为基础, 铺以幅值显示,以提高缺陷的检出能力和,保障产品质量。
    Abstract: This article described the principle of eddy current testing and two different signal displays and their differences in ET practice. Fan-shaped display can mainly estimate the discontinuity character and depth (outside defect or inside defect) as per the phase angle and phase position of the discontinuity detected by ET. Amplitude display only can obtain the discontinuity signal, but can not obtain more information about the discontinuity. Fan-shaped display can obtain the phase information whereas amplitude display can not detect discontinuity. When the discontinuity signal does not reach the alarming level, the phase information detected by fan-shaped display can help operator estimate the discontinuity. Therefore, it is suggested that ET shall be based on fan-shaped display and referring to amplitude display in order to improve discontinuity detecting competence and products quality.
