Abstract:
Digital radiography, as a relatively effective nondestructive testing method, is widely used in various industries. To verify the applicability of digital radiography in defect identification of FRP pipes, five types of defects were prefabricated on FRP pipe specimens, including groove defects, hole defects, thread defects, sealing ring defects and external force load damage defects, and digital radiography identification was performed. The test results showed that digital radiography testing technology had high sensitivity and resolution for FRP materials, and could effectively detect defects such as flat-bottomed holes, grooves, simulated cracks inside FRP pipes, as well as thread damage at joints and the quality condition of internal sealing rings. It was expected to be further applied to on-site inspection of FRP pipelines in the future.
