TOFD Detection in Periodical Inspection of Spherical Tank

摘要: 利用TOFD(超声衍射时差法)检测技术对一台在役的5 000 m3球形储罐(简称球罐)进行了检测,发现该检测技术能有效地检出球罐中的气孔、夹渣、未熔合、裂纹等埋藏缺陷。根据检测结果,确定了球罐的安全状况等级,探讨了缺陷形成的原因,并建议在球罐的定期检验中重点检测球罐的环焊缝。Abstract: TOFD (Time of Flight Diffraction) detection technology was carried on an in-service 5 000 m3 spherical tank, showing that it could effectively detect the internal defects such as pore, slag, incomplete fusion, crack. According to the testing results, the safety status level on spherical tank was determined and the causes of the defect were discussed. It is recommended that the ring welds of spherical tank need to be periodically inspected.
