Abstract: According to the nondestructive testing (NDT) personnel qualification requirements specified by API Spec 5CT and API Spec 5L, an analysis was made of the similarities and differences between the standards of ISO 9712:2012 and ISO 11484:2009. The analysis concluded that the two standards showed differences in NDT methods, nondestructive testing personnel qualification level and responsibilities requirement for employers, but they had the same requirement for the vision of NDT personnel, nondestructive testing personnel operating licenses and the valid period of time of qualification certificate.
