Calculation of the Gap between Wedge Block and the Detection Surface while Scanning on the Curvature Surfaces

  • 摘要: 超声波检测时,楔块表面与被测工件表面应耦合.当被测工件表面如管道、球罐等曲面时,楔块表面与被测工件表面应满足相应的耦合条件.分析了标准GB/T 11345-1989《钢焊缝手工超声波探伤方法和探伤结果分级》和标准GB/T 11345-2013《焊缝无损检测超声检测技术、检测等级和评定》对于楔块与工件表面耦合要求的异同,对不同曲率楔块与曲率工件表面之间的接触方式进行了几何分析,推导出计算平面/曲面楔块与工件间隙的精确公式,为检测工作中楔块的选取提供了参考依据.
    Abstract: On Ultrasonic testing,the wedge block and workpiece surface should be well coupled.When the workpiece surface is flat,just plane wedge can be used to meet the workpiece surface coupling requirement,and for the workpiece such as pipeline and spherical tank,the wedge surface and the workpiece surface should meet the corresponding coupling condition.This paper analyzes the wedge-workpiece surface coupling requirement in GB 11345-1989 and GB 11345-2013,the similarities and differences.Geometric analysis was made for different contact types between wedges and curvature workpiece surface,and the precise formula for calculating the gaps between plane / curvature surface wedge block and the workpiece is derived,thus providing a reference for the selection of suitable wedges.
