Ultrasonic Infrared Thermography Testing for the Quality of Laser Welded Seams

    • The ultrasonic infrared thermography is a new nondestructive testing technology. Ultrasonic wave was used as heat source to heat the cracks selectively. At the same time, an infrared camera detects the surface temperature of the sample. The principle of ultrasonic infrared thermography was introduced, two kinds of laser welded seams were tested by it, and the effect of laser power and welding velocity on the quality of welded seams could be analyzed by the results.
