Reflection Effect of Angled End-Face in Guided Wave Testing for Oil Tank Bottom Plate

    • Ultrasonic guided wave inspection system is used to study the reflection effect of guided wave in the oblique surface of bottom side. Based on the theory of reflection and refraction of waves, the reflection phenomenon is approved by analyzing the echo signals. The changing laws of amplitude of the reflected echo signal in angled end-face end with the different distances from reflection spot to the side were attained under the condition of the overall trip of guided wave being unchanged. Then the reflective properties are used to detect the defects of special position and prove the correctness of the conclusion of the study.
