Simulation of Scattering Acoustic Field in Rod and Identification of Ultrasonic Flaw Detecting Signal

    • Bar is in very broad application, therefore non-destructive testing has been more attention. A method of pulse ultrasonic wave field simulating was proposed, which simulated scattering acoustic field in a glass rod, results were compared with dynamic photoelastic experiments, explained the forming mechanism of the scattering wave(e.g., the side wall wave) in ultrasonic flaw detection of rod was explained. Based on this, the serial echo signal in the flaw detection of rod using single transducer was identified, and a signal processing algorithm was suggested. According to these, using single transducer, only testing one time, many mechanical performance measurements could be completed, and it is useful for flaw detection and evaluation of the mechanical properties.
