Defect Location and Corrosion Inspection Using Pulsed Magnetic Flux Leakage

    • This paper proposed a method of pulse magnetic flux leakage testing technology combined with ultrasonic thickness technology. The method if applied in ferromagnetic materials corrosion defects detection system, could undertake large area and fast detection of flaws. The design of a complete pulsed magnetic flux leakage detection system, achieved fast positioning of defects by extracting effective characteristic value of time domain. Due to pulse being with a very wide spectrum, its induction signal was more conducive to reflect the defect information, and at the same time ultrasonic thickness gauge was used to detect quantitatively the depth of corrosion defects. The experiments proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the method, so the method had great practical value.
