Analysis of Defect Signal Characteristic for Pulsed Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing

    • Magnetic flux leakage techinique has been widely used for non-intrusively steel products. The principle of pulsed magnetic flux leakage testing(PMFL) is analyzed. This paper presents a pulsed alternating current magnetizing method. The PMFL testing system has been established to examine the steel pipe of defects of different depth, and the time domain transient response signal of PMFL is analyzed. The experimental results shows that PMFL has the advantage of fast speed and quantification, this makes the method have the broad using foreground in the testing of steel pipe.
