    SDS-6500R High Frequency Ultrasonic C-Scan Technology and Application

    • Qualitative identification of defect type and quantitative identification of the defect size by SDS-6500R ultrasonic testing & imaging system were described for continuously cast slab(20 mm×20 mm) from steelmaking plant. The test results were analyzed and verified through metallographic analysis. The result showed that this high frequency ultrasonic defect detector could be used in the laboratories for discriminating inclusions from pinholes and determining the distribution of their defects of the size greater than 30 μm with a 50 MHz probe.
