    Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection of an Aero-Engine Vane Polishing Cracks

    • After 800 hours accelerated simulation and commissioning, cracks were found by fluorescent penetrant inspection on Level I and Level II Aero-Engine turbine vanes. By metallographic analyzing, polishing cracks were found and they occured under vanes producing process. This article analyzed the reason of this situation, aiming to find out how to discover the tiny defects such as polishing cracks during the turbine Vanes making and to assure the products quality.
