Sensor Array Position in Acoustic Emission Monitoring of Mining

    • In acoustic emission(AE) monitoring, the inaccuracy of the source location has been allowed to affect its application, and spatial arrangement of sensors is one of the keys to affect the sound source positioning. This article discussed the effect of sensor space arrangements on the accuracy of source position. Due to the differences of mining exploitation area with other applications, that is, the exploitation region was dynamic, and the region under monitoring was required to be changed at the same time. In order not to change the original array based on a small number of sensors by increasing the ways to improve the accuracy of positioning, a dynamic combination of sensor layout strategies was put forward. To make up for the sensor layout being unable to monitor rather weak signal, a wireless sensor networks with a combination of methods were adopted to improve the monitoring accuracy.
