Discussion of Ultrasonic Creeping Wave Detection of Root Crack of FCAW

The characteristics of sound field of ultrasonic creeping wave were discussed. Following proper selection of creeping-wave probe with different type and parameter, the ones suitable for detecting root longitudinal crack of FCAW were obtained, which gave a better solution for the detection of defects lying in the closing surface of welding seam.
