Leak Detection of Water Supply Pipeline Based on the Sound Wave Theory

    • Economy loss aroused by water pipeline leakage is very large. Study on water Pipeline Leakage and location is very important. In this paper, regional waterinduced noise diagnosis and correlator based on the sound wave theory are used together to inspect water pipeline leakage. Leakage is elementarily judged by listening to it for long duration plus statistical analysis in the former method. Pinpoint is obtained with correlation function extreme point position in the latter. The leakage in an actual water pipeline is checked with the two methods, location is quite acurate with error being as low as 1.8%. These methods can be used effectively to water pipeline leakage.
