Ultrasonic Testing of the 1000 MW IP Outer Cylinder and Defect Processing

According to siemens’ technical specifications, the first homegrown 1 000 MW IP outer cylinder was inspected by UT. Different flaws or discontinues in the cast iron were characterized. The UT method and procedure were detailed to detect the flaws including defining the presence and location of the flaw and disposal of the flaw, finally formed an operation specification as a reference for coming UT testing.
