    Based on EMD and Shape Factor to Identify Damage Location of a Simple Supported Beam Bridge

    • The principle of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and concept of shape factor are introduced. In order to study bridge health monitoring, a model of a simple supported beam is studied. Excitation is provided by sinusoidal source whose frequency is stable, the signals of acceleration response are collected by signal acquisition system, and the damage location of the model is identified perfectly in virtue of cooperating EMD which is part of HHT with shape factor. Finally, the further improvements of the method are put forward.
