An Example of Distinction Between Forging and Weldment by Using Ultrasonic Testing

The echoes of incomplete penetration and end corner reflection at particular positions were inspected by using ultrasonic testing, thus the structures of either forging or weldment could be distinguished. Distinction features of typical forging and known weldment were given, which also pointed out that synthetic analysis was necessary for judging other welded structures.
