Damage Detection of Solid Motor Units

    • During combustion, solid rocket motor defect, including chamber defect and nozzle defect will produce “super” burning surface and constitute a great threat. Industrial computed tomography(CT) technology, ultrasonic pulse transmitting method, ultrasonic testing method, acoustic-ultrasonic detecting technology and laser holographic nondestructive detection method were used to detect defects. According to the different models, a variety of methods are integrated for nondestructive detecting. In addition, computerized detecting equipment and quantitative test results will greatly enhance the efficiency of detection.
