    Finite Element Simulation of Composite Material with Impact Damage Detection Based on Vibration Characteristic

    • Testing of composite materials with impact damage has an important significance for the damage assessment of composite materials and the development of materials.The damage detection method needs to be characteristic of being concise and quick.The impact damage was introduced,based on vibration modal frequencies and the improved modal curvature damage factor,the change of vibration characteristics of the composite materials with no damage and with impact damage was compared using finite element simulation.The influence of parameters such as damage location,damage level and the layer orientation of the composite material with impact damage on its vibration characteristic parameters were also studied.The results show that the method for detection and evaluation of the composite with damage based on vibration modal curvature modal frequencies and the improved damage factor is effective,which has certain guiding significance to actual test,and can be used for the nondestructive testing of composite materials with impact damage.
