Abstract
Laser ultrasonic technique has been applied to nondestructive evaluation of defects in carbon fiber-reinforced composites (CFRCs). The results presented in this paper have shown that the ultrasonic signal characterization associated with the defects in CFRCs can be extracted from longitudinal (L) wave. The amplitude and attenuation of L wave can be used to discriminate and evaluate defects.
