Analysis of the Effect of Excitation and Specimen Electromagnetic Parameters on Pulsed Eddy Current Testing Signal with Simulation Method

    • Pulsed eddy current(PEC) testing technology has been successfully used to wall thickness measurement of coating vessels and pipes. However, due to the complexity of PEC testing theory of ferromagnetic materials, currently an effective method for analyzing the influence factors on PEC testing signal is still lacking. At first, a PEC testing model is established with finite element simulation method and verified by experiment. Then the effects of the excitation parameters including repetition frequency, duty cycle and edge slope are studied, which can provide a reference for determining the PEC excitation mode. At last, the effect of the specimen electromagnetic parameters on testing signal is analyzed and the basis for interpretation of PEC testing results is provided.
