    Brief History of Nondestructive Testing in China

    • It is well known that the Chinese people have begun to nondestructively test and diagnose in the respects of medical treatment, environment, military affairs, materials, transportation, daily life, etc. since ancient times. The times, places and pioneers of radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic testing, electromagnetic eddy current testing, acoustic vibration testing and so on, which emerged in China, as well as a part of early historical materials of NDT development in China, to the authors acknowledges, were also listed. All of these demonstrated that modern NDT technology had gone on for near one hundred years in China. And the author hopes that whole NDT personnel of our country to concern about, and to support and participate in the compilation of a full, accurate and overall Chinese history of our profession.
