The method, which provides reliable data for safe operation and lifetime prediction of rotor, is detecting R transition zone and elastic groove of steam turbine rotors regulating stage blade wheel with several effective measures. A sophisticated detection method introduced in this paper can detect crack defects of steam turbine rotor effectively, and improve the safety and economy of units. And this method has been used in maintenance of heat-engine plant, and obtained satisfied result.
