    Detection of Damages in Plates Based on Symmetric Lamb Waves

    • The symmetric Lamb wave mode S0 has the advantages of fast propagation velocity and low dispersion. The propagation of S0 mode in plate was simulated using transient dynamic analysis in ANSYS. Based on displacement contour results of finite element method(FEM), the affect of through-hole damage on S0 mode propagation was analyzed. A circular sensor array was built based on the finite element model. The damage was located using the damage image algorithm.
