The Waveform Characteristics and Identification of Ultrasonic Guided Wave for Pipeline Corrosion Testing

Ultrasonic guided wave have some advantages in detecting corrosion of in-service pipelines. It is introduced in this paper about characteristic waveform of ultrasonic guided wave detection of pipeline corrosion, which is convenient for professional to identify smaller defects. By a large number of practice in ultrasonic guided wave detection, some experiences in identifying corrosion of ultrasonic guided wave detection were summarized, which have been validated in practice, decreasing rate of faulse calls.
