Application of Edge Extraction on Image Measurement of Industrial Computed Tomography

A kind of automatic dimension measuring method using industrial computed tomography(ICT) images was presented based on edge extraction. A faster automatic image-segmenting method was adopted to extract edges. And from that, the inner geometry parameters such as area, perimeter and pole could be measured automatically. The method had been successfully applied in the image processing software for ICT. The result in engineering application showed that it was higher in accuracy, better in repetition for engineering measurement.
