Nondestructive Testing of Lifting Appliances

As one of the eight kinds of special equipment, Lifting appliances have various of types, configurations and different inspection methods. The nondestructive testing(NDT) methods and requirement of selecting material, fabricating, installing, inspecting and testing of various of lifting appliances are described from different aspects, for example material, components and parts, metal frameworks, complete machine etc. The NDT methods include macroscopic view testing(VT), radiographic testing(RT), ultrasonic testing(UT), magnetic-particle testing(MT), penetrant testing(PT), eddy-current testing(ET), magnetic flux leakage(MFL) testing, metal magnetic memory(MMM) testing, acoustic emission(AE) testing, stress testing and vibration testing. The characteristics were recited detailedly for each method.
