Analysis on phased array ultrasonic testing method for interlayer defects of carbon fiber wrapped pipes

    • Phased array ultrasonic testing technology was used to detect interlayer defects in carbon fiber wrapped pipes made of carbon fiber and steel composites. a theoretical analysis was conducted on existing nondestructive testing techniques to evaluate their applicability and limitations in detecting carbon fiber wrapped pipes. The effectiveness of phased array ultrasonic testing method was verified through artificial simulation of defect experiments. Subsequently, the physical inspection of carbon fiber wrapped pipes further confirmed the effectiveness of this method in practical applications. This paper proposed a phased array detection method for detecting interlayer defects in carbon fiber wrapped pipes by optimizing detection parameters and methods, and presented methods for identifying defects.
