Stress corrosion crack detection in pressure vessels based on array eddy current and alternating current field measurement detection technology

    • Two new nondestructive testing technologies, array eddy current and Alternating current field measurement, were used to perform rapid non polishing detection of cracks and defects on the inner wall surface and near surface of pressure vessels, providing an efficient and reliable nondestructive testing method for stress corrosion cracks in pressure vessels. One sterilization pot was tested in this paper. On the basis of laboratory process research, two specialized testing processes, eddy current array and alternating current field measurement were developed and validated. The test results indicated that the detection process can achieve rapid detection of surface and near surface crack defects in sterilization pot, which was of great significance for the regular inspection of pressure vessels.
