Research progress of pipeline leakage detection and safety evaluation

    • Leakages in oil, gas and water supply pipelines not only cause safety hazards, but also lead to energy and property losses. To reduce the likelihood of pipeline failure, pipeline leak detection and assessment is critical. This paper introduced the current research status of leakage detection of oil, gas pipelines and water supply pipelines, which could be divided into hardware-based methods and software-based methods. The characteristics, suitable scenarios and performance of various detection technologies were introduced respectively. At the same time, the relevant information on pipeline leakage at home and abroad was given. The technical standards and policies could provide theoretical reference for on-site pipeline leak detection.
