    Microwave nondestructive quantitative detection of cavities in soil around buried PE pipeline

    • In this paper, the bobbin-typed microwave nondestructive evaluation(NDE) for localization and assessment of soil cavity around buried PE(polyethylene) pipeline is intensively investigated. A system of the bobbin-typed microwave NDE is built up. The applicability of the proposed NDE technique together with the signal features and assessment algorithms for soil cavity around buried PE pipeline is further affirmed via experiments with testing probes in different microwave bands.
