Analysis of compression characteristics of steel-continuous fiber composite bar reinforced concrete columns based on acoustic emission

    • In order to study the characteristics of SFCB (steel-continuous fiber composite bar) concrete column under uniaxial compression, 12 concrete column specimens with diameter of 150 mm and height of 300 mm were designed and manufactured with fiber reinforced polymer reinforcement and steel-continuous fiber composite reinforcement as reinforcement respectively. Uniaxial compression tests were carried out based on acoustic emission technology. The acoustic emission signals of the specimens under uniaxial compression were obtained. The results show that SFCB has better ductility than the fiber reinforced polymer bars. SFCB can improve the ultimate bearing capacity of concrete columns to a certain extent. SFCB has stable post-yield stiffness and can improve the anti-deformation capacity of concrete columns. Compared with BFRP(basalt fiber reinforced plastics), SFCB can better limit the development of tensile fracture.
