Nondestructive Testing of Long Gas and Oil Pipelines

    • This paper designed a comprehensive testing system for monitoring the thickness and structure stress distribution changes in pipeline. The pipeline monitoring module includes ultrasonic thickness measurement, eddy current and electrochemical corrosion rate monitoring and magnetic memory stress diagnosis. The testing results are no longer confined to one testing method and are characteristic of multi-information about the corrosion and safety of the pipeline, which significantly improves the testing reliability and efficiency. In addition, multiple sets of monitoring modules are arranged in different piping systems and different position. The testers can make a comprehensive judgment on the safety of the monitored pipeline from the multi parameter identification to the data fusion, which will have a wide application prospects in the pipeline corrosion condition monitoring, health monitoring and life prediction.
