Experiment of Magnetic Particle Inspection of Heat Treated 4340 Steel Parts

Abstract

Abstract

When the 4340 steel parts were performed by magnetic powder inspection after heat treatment, magnetic traces appeared. Through comparison test and analysis, it is found that the magnetic trace is not a heat treatment crack, but an alloy segregation and suggestions for improvement are put forward.
