Contrast and Analysis of DR/RT-F Detection Technology on Oil and Gas Pipeline Girth Welding

  • In order to compare the different results of DR/RT-F testing for girth welding and hence their corresponding fault detection capabilities, testing plans for DR/RT-F were worked out, and sample welds with artificial defects were designed and manufactured based on the DR/RT-F detection principle. DR/RT-F testing on the artificial defects of weld was carried out according to the testing scheme and the detection ability of DR and RT-F for different types of defects was compared. The test results showed that various types of defects could be detected by DR/RT-F testing with their respective equipment, material and process parameters.
