The Effect of Magnetic Field Velocity on Motion-Induced Eddy Current Thermography

    • Motion-induced eddy current thermography is a new nondestructive method, which utilizes the eddy current created by relative motion between conductive specimen and magnetic field. In this paper, the thermal response of defects with different depths at different speeds was studied by multi-physical coupling simulation and high-speed thermography experiment. The simulation and experiment results show that the defects at different moving speeds have obvious differences in thermal response, and the faster the speed is, the more obvious the detection effect is while the defects being near the surface of the workpiece.
