    Application and Development of NDT for Fiber Reinforced Polymer Matrix Composites Used in Aviation

    • The level of NDT technology for the composite used in aviation is recently raised evidently. The parts with sandwich, curvature, R-angle and cavity structure can all be inspected reliably. In addition to the conventional NDT methods of ultrasonic and X ray, the new NDT methods of infrared thermograph, laser speckle, air-coupled ultrasonic and ultrasonic phased array etc are all applicable for the composite. In the future, NDT technology for composites used in aviation must be combined with the advanced technology of electronic information, computer and so on, and developed in the normalized, automated and diversified way.
